At the end of every year, I curate all the best Google Ads Scripts I could find that year and come up with a list of my Top 5 Google Ads Scripts of that year, ready for you to use.

NB: If you’re new to scripts, don’t know any JavaScript, or are afraid to use them… don’t worry! You don’t need to know any coding, using these scripts is perfectly safe, and installing them in your accounts feels like a breeze.
Just follow these steps to install and run any Google Ads Script.

1) Query to Keyword (aka Dave)

WHAT IT DOES
Automatically add high-performing search queries as keywords to your Google Ads campaigns.
This script adds converting search terms with a cost per acquisition (CPA) lower than target as either an exact, phrase or broad match modifier keyword.

WHY YOU CARE
People are always searching for things in different ways. Adding the different user queries as keywords to your account allows you to efficiently get more clicks and conversions at lower costs.

2) OptiScore Tracker

WHAT IT DOES
This script monitors the OptiScore for the campaigns in your account.
It will show the score per month in a spreadsheet.

WHY YOU CARE
If you are working at an agency that is tone-death to the business goals of the advertiser, and blindly want to implement Google’s terrible recommendations just to keep your Premier Partner badge, this one is for you!
On a slightly more nuanced note: sometimes, I mean SOMEtimes Google’s recommendations actually make a lot of sense and this script will help you notice these rare instances.

3) Convert existing ETAs to RSAs

WHAT IT DOES
The script creates a RSA based on an existing ETA with all headlines and descriptions pinned on the positions taken from the ETA.

WHY YOU CARE
Beginning in July 2022, you will no longer be able to create new ETAs or edit existing ETAs in Google Ads.
Luckily for us, we can still control the messaging. This is going to be essential for regulated industries.
If, like me, you see poor RSA performance compared to ETAs, pinning headlines and descriptions might be your way to go.

4) Budget Pacing Script For Controlling Multiple Budgets

WHAT IT DOES
The script checks the total spend of each campaign group (grouped via budget-labels), every hour.
If the group of campaigns has spent more than the maximum amount you’ve set for the budget-label, the script will pause all active campaigns in that group.

WHY YOU CARE
If you have multiple budgets for different campaigns in your Google Ads account and don’t want Google to overspend your budget targets, managing budgets can be cumbersome.
This script will make life easier by preventing Google to spend more than the budget you set.
