What is the Language of Adwords Scripts?

Adwords Scripts are based on a popular programming language named ‘Javascript’, often abbreviated to ‘JS’.

Javascript is not to be confused with another popular programming language with a sort of similar name; ‘Java’.

Alongside HTML and CSS, JavaScript is one of the three core technologies of the World Wide Web and mostly used for web development. However, the language can be used for other purposes as well, including Adwords Scripting.

Javascript comes in different versions, and currently, Adwords Scripts are based on JavaScript 1.6, plus a few features from 1.7 and 1.8 (ECMAscript).
